Amateur Baseball:

Red Wing 8 Menomonie 7- Trailing 6-0 after two innings, the Aces righted the ship and rallied for a win at the Athletic Field Tuesday night.

Aces starting pitcher Luke Halvorson had trouble early, giving up six runs in the first two innings, but he tossed three scoreless innings after that.  The Aces rallied for two runs in the fourth inning and put together a six run rally in the eighth inning for the win.  The big hits in the eighth inning were Steve Boldt's two run single, Brett Gadient's rbi single to tie the game and Jimmy Bohmbach's rbi single to give the Aces the lead.

Jordan Warren earned the win by tossing two scorless innings of relief in the sixth and seventh innings.  Josh Thygesen pitched the final two innings, giving up a run in the ninth but earning a save in the process.

The Aces are now 15-6 on the season and host the Chicago Wildcats at 7:30pm tonight.  Red Wing then travels to Eau Claire to face the Cavaliers at Carson Park tomorrow night.  The next Aces broadcast is Friday night, June 25th as they host the Lake City Serpents at 7:30pm on Bluff Country 1250 KCUE and on the web at www.1250kcue.com.   It's Tom Gwaltney night Friday night as the Aces honor Gwaltney, the and Lake City baseball icon who is battling ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease).
