Amateur Baseball:

Red Wing Aces 9 Randolph Railcats 1- The Aces belted the Railcats in Randolph to win their fourth straight game and stay one game back of Miesville in the CCVL standings.

Chris Guetzlaff hit a solo home run in the sixth inning, Dave Jenson a three run blast in the eighth inning and Dustin La Rue a two run shot in the ninth for the Aces.  La Rue's home run was his first career dinger with the Aces.

Andy Gibart pitched the first five innings to get the win, allowing one run on five hits with three strike outs and no walks.  Brett Gadient pitched two innings of relief and struck out four batters and Luke Halvorson went the final two frames and struck out five batters as the Aces staff combined for 12 strike outs in the game.

The Aces are 18-6 overall and 8-1 in the CCVL and host the Owatonna Aces Tuesday at 7:30pm.  The Aces host the Eau Claire Cavaliers Friday night as they honon the 1990 state championship team with alumni night and Back to the 70's Night.  Fans can dress up in their best 70's garb and win prizes.

The Aces have a huge holiday weekend coming up.  Red Wing host Dundas Saturday at 2pm and then travels to Miesville Sunday for a July 4th showdown with the league leading Mudhens.  Both games are on Bluff Country 1250 KCUE and on the web at www.1250kcue.com with "Action" Jack Colwell.

Miesville Mudhens 11 Cannon Falls 0 (8 innings)- The Hens scored three runs off Bears ace Keith Meyers in the top of the first inning and rolled to another easy CCVL win. 

Chris Olean allowed just two hits in seven innings of work for the Mudhens with Luke Rasmussen pitching the eighth inning.  Andrew Werner's two run home run off the left field scoreboard at John Burch Park highlighted a four run eighth inning for Miesville.

The Mudhens are 17-3 overall and 9-0 in the CCVL.

Lake City 17 Kasson 5- The Serpents Jordan Rishavy was a one man wrecking crew Sunday.  Rishavy was 5-6 with three home runs, a double and six RBI.  Matt Foley also homered for Lake City and Aaron Aaland picked up the win on the mound fo the Serpents.

Lake City is 14-2 overall and 12-1 in the Twin Rivers League and hosts the Rochester Roadrunners Wednesday in their next game,

American Legion Baseball:

Red Wing 13 New Prague 2 (5 innings)- Alex Quiding's grand slam was the highlight for Red Wing in their win at New Prague.  Quiding has homered in three straight games.  Austin Anderson and Ryan Hill had three hits and two RBI apiece for Red Wing.

Ben Smith tossed a five inning complete game for Red Wing.

Red Wing is 3-7 overall and hosts Farmington in a doubleheader starting at 6pm tonight at the Red Wing Athletic Field.
