Amateur Baseball:

Miesville 18 Menomonie 4 (7 innings)- The Hens rolled to an easy win at Jack Ruhr Field, scoring five runs in the first inning and eight runs in the sixth inning.

Andrew Werner and Andrew Hansen had two RBI apiece for Miesville and Josh Loewen pitched the first six innings to grab the win on the hill for Miesville.

Miesville is 18-3 on the year and hosts Lyon's Pub Friday at 8pm.

Cannon Falls 16 Prior Lake 2 (7 innings)- Logan Godfrey's first inning grand slam helped power the Bears to a big win.  Taylor Pagel had four RBI and Cory Hedeen was 3-6 with a double and two RBI for the Bears.  Billy Coakley went six innings on the hill to get the win. allowing two runs on four hits.

Cannon Falls plays at Hastings Friday at 7:30pm in a CCVL matchup.

Aces update: The Red Wing Aces host the Eau Claire Cavaliers Friday at 7:30pm.  It's "Back To The 70's Night" and the Aces will roll out vintage uniforms and fans can dress in 70's costumes to win prizes.  There will be an Aces alumni game at 5:30pm and all former Aces and Scarlets players are invited,  The Aces wil also pay tribute to the 1990 championship team that sported an incredible 46-5 record.

American Legion Baseball:  Red Wing 2 West St. Paul 0- Justin Lance tossed a complete game four hitter with one walk and one strike out for Post 54 in the win.  Lance was 2-3 at the plate with a double.

Alex Quiding had an RBI single in the fourth inning for Red Wing and Austin Anderson added an RBI single in the sixth to score Ryan Hill who had doubled earlier in the frame.

Red Wing has won four straight and is 6-7.  Post 54 is off until Monday night when they host South St. Paul.

Legion Notes: A Little Pleiner! 

Legion head coach Justin Plein's wife gave birth to the couple's second child, a baby girl named Camden, on Wednesday.  Camden joins older brother Jackson as the newest member of of Plein family.  Daddy Jusitn and Grandpa Danny (Aces Assistant Coach) will no doubt have the little lady swinging for the fences in no time.
