AMATEUR BASEBALL:

Red Wing Aces 6 St. Paul Sport & Spine 5- The Aces rallied for three unearned runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to win their third straight game.

Adam Thygesen led off the ninth inning with a base hit and Dave Jenson reached on an error by the St.Paul Sport & Spine pitcher.  Kyle Blahnik's sacrafice fly scored Thygesen.  Brett Gadient's infield hit was followed by another sacrafice fly by Andy Schilling that tied the game.  Steve Boldt's line drive to left field with two out was dropped, allowing Gadient to score the winning run.

Andy Schilling led the Aces offense by going 3-4 with two RBI.  Luke Halvorson pitched the first five innings for the Aces, allowing three runs.  Andy Gibart allowed two runs in two innings but the runs scored as the result of a fly ball being lost in the lights.  Dustin La Rue pitched the final two innings to get the win.

The Aces are now 21-10 on the season.

Lake City Serpents 5 Hampton 2- The Serpents scored single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings and two in the ninth ninning to defeat the Cardinals in a game played at Jack Ruhr Field in Miesville.

Brett Gwaltney pitched into the ninth inning to get the win for the Serpents.  Jordan Rishavy had an RBI triple in the sixth inning and Kyle Sill and Grant Ignatius had doubles for Lake City.

The Serpents are now 20-3 on the season.

Game 1-Northfield 10 Red Wing 0 (five innings) Game 2-Northfield 9 Red Wing 3

Post 54 dropped a twinbill to Northfield at memorial park in Dundas to fall to 7-13 on the season.  Marcus Plein was the losing pitcher in the first game while Ben Smith took the loss in game two.
