Tonight: Lake City Serpents (24-3) at Red Wing Aces (24-12) 7:10pm pre-game 7:30pm first pitch on Bluff Country 1250 KCUE and on the web at www.1250kcue.com.

The Aces honor Lake City baseball icon Tom Gwaltney tonight in pre-game ceremonies.  Gwaltney is battling ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) and his son Scott is now managing the Serpents.

The Aces host Bay City Friday night in their annual fan appreciation night game at 7:30pm on KCUE, then  play their final CCVL game Sunday at 2pm at Cannon Falls on KCUE.

Youth baseball:

The Red Wing Redhawks defated the Minneapolis Millers 4-3 Tuesday night at Fort Snelling Field in Bloomington in 13AA baseball.  The Redhawks will play the Precsott Cardinals tonight for the 13AA region championship at Kent Hrbek Field in Bloomington.

VFW Baseball:

The Red Wing VFW baseball team hosts the District 1 Final Four this weekend at the Red Wing Athletic Field in a double elimination format.

Here is the schedule for Saturday, July 24th:

9am-Red Wing vs. Rochester Spartans

11:30am-Stewartville vs. Winona

2pm-Loser of Game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2

4:30pm-Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2

Sunday, July 25th:

9am-Winner of  Saturday's 2pm game vs. loser of Saturday's 4:30pm game

11:30am-Winner of Saturday's 4:30pm game vs. winner of 9am Sunday game

If needed a final game would be played Monday, July 26th at 5pm

Red Wing is the #1 seed and is 22-1 on the season.  Sid Lidstrom, the coach of the 1967 VFW team, the only Red Wing VFW team to make it to the state tournament, will throw out the first pitch Saturday morning.  The VFW color guard will be on hand as well.

Ticket prices Saturday are $5 for adults.  18 and under are free.  Sunday it's $3 for adults with 18 and under getting in free.

If Red Wing captures the District 1 title they move on to the state tournament August 5-8 in Austin.
